Time

"We are thankful for the time we have been given." ~ The Village

In recent times, I have come to appreciate this statement much. Not just in the context of death, but in life as well. Perhaps it is just me, but I have begun seeing people and relationships as time-bound entities. All things change - situations and circumstances change, attitudes change, people change. Perhaps the quality of life itself would be enriched if one were conscious of this, that this time that we have been given, is surely passing us by.

"Did you know that tears run in rivulets
And hearts can repeatedly break?
And this may well be the last time
If my spirits don't pick up and fly
For though it's sad
It may well be true
That our time is passing us by."

~ Joan Baez (Time is passing us by)

Time has been given way too much credit, over time (pun unintended). It's not time that changes but us...we are merely the choices we make. Time, oddly enough, was a bystander or spectator - if you like.
